"Western
Colorado is a great place to be, not only the surrounding beauty,
but the people who live here. Moving to Grand Junction has
definitely been one of the highlights of my life."
Rick
Thurtle brings nearly 20 years of broadcast news experience
to the Western Slope. A native Westerner, Rick has worked for
network affiliate news departments in Nevada, Wyoming, South
Dakota, Nebraska, and Illinois before moving to Grand Junction
and joining KKCO-TV in
1998 as Sports Director.
He
has been anchoring news for the 5:30 and 10:00 p.m., Monday
through Friday newscasts since 1999. "It has been very
rewarding working with a group of people who helped start
this news operation and watching it grow from a start-up
operation
to a dominate number one in the ratings in a very short period
of time."
